Self-help traveling enjoys great popularity among college students today. The reason may be that they can save a lot of money by arranging the routes, booking cheaper hotels and deciding cheaper transportation tools all by themselves.
Convenient and economical as self-help traveling sounds, they still have some potential problems. Perhaps the most important one is the safety problem. Being alone without a group or a tour guide, a traveler may be helpless in face of danger, i.e. robbery, wild animal attacks, etc. In addition, they are more likely to be at risk of getting lost when traveling alone in a city strange to them or in the remote countryside.
In my view, self-help traveling can be exciting and challenging and is worth trying. However, before setting out alone, travelers should make good preparations.Besides, they should bear safety and security in mind all the time and keep in touch with their friends or relatives.Thus, they can enjoy both safety and pleasure of exploring different places.

Beijing has placed strict restriction on the number of newly purchased car in the city and the policy bas sparked heated discussion. Some people support the policy, saying it，s a powerful method to cope with the severe traffic congestion in the capital. With cars increasing drastically in the past few years, severe traffic jams occur not only in rush hours but at any time of the day now.
Others, however, aie strongly against the limitations. They argue that the great number of official cars，which are frequently used, is a big factor causing traffic congestion. But the policy mainly aims at private cars and has no dear restrictions on the use of official cars. Besides, car purchase limitation would hinder the development of China's automobile industry，and more people would lose their jobs as a result.
Personally, I think the restriction of buying and use of cars, official cars incladed, is inevitable and just a matter of time for Beijing. If the number of cars is not limited, there will be a huge disaster for the environment, road resources, the travel demands of normal people and the improvement of living standards..

When it comes to a course that leaves the deepest impression in university, different people stand on different grounds. As for me, the most impressive course in college is “Appreciation of English Movies”, which I like best. I prefer this curriculum to others owing to the following factors.
On one hand, the professor in charge of this course has impressed me most because she is not only knowledgeable but also patient. More importantly, it is this respectable teacher who spurs my interest to English harder and broadens my horizon as well. Until now, what she said in the class often occurs to my mind. On the other hand, there are many discussions in the classroom when we have lessons. We are allowed to talk freely about a movie, the topic ranging from the theme of a film to its casting. So, during the talk, we become increasingly open-minded. And undoubtedly a brain open to everything carries great importance to study, work and life.
Generally speaking, the course on appreciating English films has impressed me most for it is not only instructive but also entertaining. And therefore, I suggest that more similar courses should be offered in the university.

As you know, our students are the main customers of the university canteen. But unfortunately, we dont find the service there satisfying sometimes.The food is not as nutritious as it should be. As a result, some of us become thinner and weaker at university.Besides, sometimes the canteen people just bring us steamed bread with their dirty bare hands.And whats more, the fare is also a little higher at university.
Some people may argue that measures have been taken and things are improving there.For instance, Ic cards have taken the place of money in the canteed, and the attitude of the service people is also changing.But in my opinon, progress is not so quick and thorough.

Many university students prefer a self-help travelling to a packaged one, because they do not have to follow a rigidly-planned schedule. In addition, these young people can stay in and enjoy a spot they find fascinating while leave immediately a scene that they regard not so captivating. Another important reason is that some students are not willing to pay a big sum on accommodation, so instead, they make do with living in a cheaper place.
It cannot be denied that self-help travelling is less safe. A trip into remote areas or mountains may turn out to be risky. These young people have neither sufficient experience in dealing with emergencies nor do they have somebody to resort to. They might be lost in a place without communication and nobody knows their situation.
Independent travelling, as far as I am concerned, would be an enjoyable and cost-effective choice as long as it is nearby. For young travelers, before starting, they are supposed to make enough preparations, including route, accommodations and necessary emergency aids.
